On Thursday there was an update posted on the defunct, Mt Gox bitcoin exchange’s website: An approaching due date to file a civil rehabilitation plan by the trustee of Mt Gox, has been pushed to the end of October. Deadline to file civil rehabilitation plan extended for crypto exchange Mt Gox.
Due to the number of rejected claims, the trustee, Nobuaki Kobayashi, stated in the update that his intention was to file a plan by April 26, but he requires more time.
The extension request was filed with The Tokyo District Court, which is overseeing the case. Kobayashi is now aiming to file the rehabilitation plan by Oct. 28, 2019, as the court approved the extension.
Last month the trustee said he finalized approvals and rejections of the various claims submitted to the exchange. It is when the April 26 deadline first announced. He said he will notify claimants of his decision in the coming weeks.
The update said:
“Accordingly, it is not possible at this moment to make appropriate provisions in a rehabilitation plan on modifications of the rights of the rehabilitation claims, repayment methods, and appropriate measures for the undetermined rehabilitation claims and therefore to submit a rehabilitation plan by April 26, 2019”.
Deadline to file civil rehabilitation plan extended for crypto exchange Mt Gox. It is up to the Tokyo court to make a determination on each claim.
